One of the first questions we’re often asked is: “What will this cost me?” While we don’t offer flat-rate pricing—because every job is unique—we believe in transparency and clear expectations. Below is a breakdown of our standard pricing structure and how we bill for services.
💼 Administrative Fee (Varies by Job)
Most projects begin with a one-time administrative fee, which covers approximately 10 hours of behind-the-scenes work, including:

📋 Creation of your personalized Move Manifest (the job’s blueprint)
This work is handled by your Senior Move Manager, who is licensed and certified by NASMM (National Association of Senior & Specialty Move Managers).
➡️ For smaller or simpler jobs, this fee may be reduced or waived.
🔐 Job Retainer/Deposit (Based on Project Scope)
Like most service-based companies, we collect a job retainer (or deposit) at the start of each project. This is held in a separate account and applied daily toward:

Our staff is employed year-round and paid on a regular schedule, so this funding ensures your project is properly staffed and stays on track from day one. With several jobs often running at once, it also helps us keep everything organized and moving efficiently. We are licensed, certified, insured, bonded, and carry workers’ compensation for all employees—giving you the highest level of coverage and peace of mind.
How it works:

💸 Follow-up retainers may be requested if the job expands
🔁 Unused funds are refunded at the end
🧾 Final invoices are only issued if there’s a remaining balance

Your Senior Move Manager is your go-to expert—certified by NASMM and responsible for:

The Project Manager works alongside the crew as your field leader. They:

Our warm, reliable Daisy Staff handles the physical side of the move:

📦 Boxing & Packing Materials
We provide all the necessary materials to keep your items safe and organized.
These include:

New boxes, packing paper, shrink wrap, tape, bins, and specialty materials

Reused materials (boxes, totes, paper) at no charge, when available
➡️ Any newly purchased supplies are billed directly to the client and tracked by receipt.
🚚 Subcontracted Movers (Required by California Law)
In the state of California, it is against the law for senior move managers or relocation companies to broker, resell, or directly provide moving services unless they are licensed by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC). This applies to all companies in our industry—not just us—and is designed to protect consumers. Only licensed moving companies are authorized to physically transport your belongings. At Moving Miss Daisy, we follow the law exactly as intended. We are certified move managers, not movers—which means:
